History
Town v Gown fixtures have hundreds of years of history with the first match between City and the students taking place in February 1895. The University ran out as 10-0 victors in The Parks that day but over the following 130 years the games became much more even with several players also representing the Town from the Gown, playing for City while studying at the University.
Now, after reviving this unique event thanks to the groundbreaking partnership between Oxford City Football Club and the University of Oxford, the links between two of the cities' oldest sporting institutions couldn't be stronger.
Last season both Women's & Men's First Teams faced off at The MGroup Stadium with Oxford City running out victors in the two fixtures.
